Who it’s for

PSYPACT applies to doctoral-level licensed psychologists. It does not cover counselors, social workers, or marriage & family therapists — those professions have their own compacts. See our licensure guide for all four.

How it works

A psychologist licensed in a participating “home state” obtains an ASPPB E.Passport and an Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT), then can serve clients physically located in any other participating state. The roster grows as legislatures opt in, so always confirm against the official map before relying on it.

Why it matters for remote roles

Employers hiring remote psychologists often prioritize PSYPACT-eligible candidates because it dramatically widens the client base a single clinician can serve. For the full paperwork order, fees, and common mistakes, read the complete PSYPACT 2026 guide.
